Introduction

OpenCode is an open source AI programming agent that runs in the terminal. The idea is similar to Claude Code and Codex CLI: you use natural language to provide requirements in the project directory, and it reads code, changes files, runs commands, and completes a small function from beginning to end.

Its biggest selling point is that it does not bind models. Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini can all be connected, and local models can also be attached. The official website also provides a batch of free and available models. The interface is native TUI and supports multiple sessions in parallel. Bug fixing in one window and testing writing in another window do not interfere with each other. Just install a curl command, npm, brew and other methods are also available.

This time I posted version 2.0 on Product Hunt. It is suitable for developers who are accustomed to the command line but do not want to be locked into a certain model subscription; the code is completely open source and free of charge, and the only thing that costs money is the model API you access.
