Cloud Linux sandbox for AI programming agents
Buddy Sandboxes is a cloud sandbox service launched by CI/CD platform Buddy, which is used to run AI-generated code and applications made from these codes. Unlike many container sandboxes that are "burn after use", it provides a complete Linux virtual machine: with password-free sudo, 50GB persistent disk, files, dependencies and caches will still be there after restarting, and a public HTTPS address can be assigned.
The official data is that it takes about 70 milliseconds from the API call to the machine running. The configuration can be expanded from 1 core 2GB to 12 cores 24GB. The machine is pre-installed with node, docker, go, python3, git and common programming agents. It supports snapshots, allowing each agent to start from a ready state; it automatically stops when idle and wakes up again when requested. Agents can start applications in it, access the URL themselves, and read logs to verify changes. The entire process can be driven by CLI, TypeScript SDK, REST API or MCP tool calls.
It is suitable for development teams that are making programming agent products, or that need tools such as Claude Code and Codex to run tests and preview in an isolated environment.
