Open-source, self-hostable legal AI platform
Mike is an open-source legal AI platform with a clear positioning: an open-source alternative to commercial legal AI products like Harvey and Legora—feature-matched, zero licensing fees, and self-hostable.
Its assistant can read files uploaded by the law firm and provide answers with citations, search case law, run multi-step workflows, and draft and revise contracts from scratch—for example, after reading a credit agreement, it automatically generates a conditions precedent checklist. Files are organized into project spaces by case, and the assistant maintains context across all conversations within the same project; a tabular review feature can pull key terms from a batch of NDAs into a comparison table. You can choose the underlying model yourself and only pay the corresponding API fees.
The code is publicly available on GitHub, so prompt construction, citation parsing, and data flows are all auditable; you can also freely build on it and integrate it with document management systems. The cloud version offers a free trial with registration. It is suitable for law firms and in-house legal teams that care about data residency and compliance and do not want vendor lock-in—provided someone on the team can handle deployment and operations and maintenance.
