Introduction
KugelAudio is a YC-incubated European speech AI company that provides natural human voice synthesis in 39 languages. The models are developed in Europe, hosted in Europe, and fully compliant with GDPR. Every package for EU and EEA customers includes an EU sovereign cloud. The median delay of the first audio segment in the official demo is about 91 milliseconds.
The newly launched Kugel Ear 1 is a speech-to-text model with an interesting design: when you encounter an uncertain word on the phone, such as the name of the caller, it will not guess, but will tell your voice robot "I'm not sure" and give you several spellings it heard together. The robot only needs to ask once.
It is mainly aimed at developers of voice applications such as telephone customer service robots and appointment reminders, especially European businesses that have compliance concerns about data export.
