SOMA

SOMA is a research automation platform designed to efficiently discover under-documented pathways between factors and medical conditions through open access journal databases. It uses artificial intelligence technology to build a knowledge graph and speed up the search process. The platform analyzes medical research articles, extracts important concepts, and identifies causal and correlational relationships between them. This information is organized into a specialized database that allows researchers to specify pairs of concepts and retrieve causal chains recorded through sentences extracted from research articles.

Researchers can specify a pair of concepts (cause and effect) and the system will retrieve causal chains of the specified length based on the filter. Each link in each causal chain was recorded by a sentence extracted from the research article. Users can access specific research articles through web links provided by the system.
