Calendar-driven proactive Agent
Floatboat took a different approach to building an AI assistant: instead of waiting for you to ask, it pulls tasks from your calendar.
It treats the calendar as a runtime: each time block triggers not a meeting but an Agent. Before the scheduled time, it prepares; at the scheduled time, it executes; after it ends, it follows up. Officially, this is called a “proactive Agent OS,” contrasted with the passive mode of chat-based AI, which “won’t move unless you ask.”
Calendar integrations are quite comprehensive: Google Calendar, Notion Calendar, Feishu, Outlook, and iCloud are all supported, and it can also directly ingest any ICS subscription feed. Clients cover macOS (with both Apple Silicon and Intel versions) and Windows, plus FloatIM for iOS.
The current version is v0.4.0 and is still fairly early. It’s suited to people with dense schedules whose work largely revolves around the time before and after meetings; if your work isn’t organized around a calendar to begin with, this model will be less valuable.
