Batch rename files with local AI
RenamerX is a desktop AI file renaming and organization tool. It reads the actual content of documents, images, and videos and, based on the naming rules you set, generates clear, easy-to-search file names—for example, turning a pile of files named IMG_2931 or Scanned Document 001 into names that include the date and subject.
The biggest selling point is that it runs locally and files aren’t uploaded to the cloud; every rename suggestion requires your confirmation before it’s applied, and any mistakes can be undone. In addition to one-time cleanup, you can also set up watched folders so newly added files are automatically categorized.
It has a macOS version. Basic features are free with a monthly quota, while heavy use requires a paid plan. It’s suited to designers and administrative staff whose Downloads folder is always a mess or who need to manage large amounts of assets.
